It's What's For Dinner

Olivia is such a good eater. If Theo were around, he'd say "because she was starving for nine months!" What a kidder he is. Well, sort of. Anyway, she doesn't really get baby food anymore and is pretty happy to eat whatever I'm eating.

Case and point. Quinoa salad. How many of you even know what quinoa is? I didn't until my first trip to Whole Foods. But the girl woofed it down. We haven't found a whole lot she won't eat. She also ate pasta salad the other day with tomatoes and cucumber in it!

I love this one! It looks like she's saying (in her best Brooklyn accent) "Yo! You talkin to me?" :)

Today, she had mac-n-cheese for the first time, which I can't even get Carter to eat. Seriously, what kid doesn't eat macaroni and cheese?

She gained a pound in the first two weeks of being only formula fed. Her weight gain has slowed down but she is much "healthier" now (read: chunky!) She also made her first debut in the church nursery today and did great! I kept staring up at the screen waiting to see my number for me to come pick her up. When church was over, I walked down the hall towards her room and heard screaming. I was just certain it was her but as I got closer, I realized it wasn't her cry. Sure enough, when I poked my head in the door, she was happy playing on the floor with other babies. Ahhhh, what a great moment that was for me. I had really begun to feel trapped, as if I couldn't go or do anything unless Theo was home to watch her. But finally, I feel like I can maybe have a life again!

On a totally unrelated note, I am getting a little tired of not having a fenced in yard and having the only big swingset on our street. The older kids have been coming by everyday, which I don't normally mind. But last night, they beat on the door at 8:30. Then I heard all of the shrieking and looked outside and the sprinklers had come on! I laughed so hard I almost cried! The other day, they broke one of Carter's toys. Albeit a dollar tree toy but still. They are not preschoolers! And then today, they left all of their popsicle wrappers in our yeard! Ugh. What's worse, I don't even know any of their parents. We're worried if they fall off our swingset and break their arm, we're responsible. Which would be ridiculous. Supervise your kids people! I am not the neighborhood babysitter!! Sorry, I just had to get that off my chest!

First let me say I am jealous of your good eater, I have yet to have one! However you are way to nice, those kids wouldn't come into my yard, because they would be scared of the crazy lady chasing them off of her property.

So glad Olivia is a good eater. I sure hope we're as lucky with Sara Beth! That's great news about her time at the nursery too. We've been wondering when th right time is to take her to the church nursery. So far, we just bring her with us to Sunday School. We haven't been able to go to SS and "big church" yet because I don't want to have to nurse her while at church.
